Project: Paradise Dam Client: Macmahon Contractors Services: Project Management, Mechanical Commissioning, Employee Management, HSE Management Edentech was commissioned to complete a wide variety of tasks both during construction and following completion of works. From July 2005 Edentech supplied Craig Thamm as the project Safety and Environmental Manager. Craig assumed the role of Alliance Manager following practical completion in November 2005. After this date Edentech managed the construction of a first of its kind freshwater turtle hatchery, completion of commissioning and management of the defects liability period. Project: Jilalan Rail Yard Upgrade and Abbot Point to Pring Rail Upgrade Client: Coal Stream Alliance Services: Tender Team Support
and Estimating, HSE Management, Recruitment Due to increasing demand for Bowen Basin Coal,
major upgrades to rail infrastructure have been required throughout the
Queensland Rail network. Edentech was commissioned to assist a consortium in
tendering for the upgrade to the Jilalan Rail Yard. After successfully securing
the project, we assisted the project by developing the project environmental
management plan, drafting key management procedures for safety and risk, also
managing the interface between the EIS and approvals consultant and the
Alliance. The successful execution of the Jilalan project enabled the Coal
Stream Alliance to secure a contract to complete upgrade and duplication work
on rail infrastructure between the yard at Pring and the port of Abbot Point.
Client: Bundaberg Regional Council Services: Contaminated Site Investigation and RemediationThe Bundaberg Clay Target Club had been in
operation for more than 50 years. This had resulted in an extensive area of
lead contamination. As part of a redevelopment of the site, Edentech was
commissioned to investigate and manage site remediation to allow for
subdivision and eventual sale of the contaminated area.
Client: Hale Street Link Alliance Services: Tender Team Support and Estimating, HSE Management, Recruitment Edentech was engaged to assist a consortium in tendering for a project to link Hale Street to South Brisbane via a bridge constructed over the Brisbane River. The consortium, comprised of local and international contractors and consultants was successful in their bid. Edentech was then engaged to assist the Alliance in securing the necessary approvals, to draft the project Environmental, Risk and Safety Management Plans and to assist in pre-construction planning. Project: Wyaralong Dam Client: Wyaralong Dam Alliance Services: Tender Team Support and Estimating, HSE Management, Recruitment Edentech was commissioned to assist the consortium during the tender process, providing advice principally on environmental matters. After the consortium was successful in winning the construction contract, Edentech supplied Craig Thamm as the project Approvals Manager, heading a team of staff sourced from the contracting members of the Alliance (Macmahon and ASI), consulting members (SMEC and Entura) and the client (Queensland Water Infrastructure). Craig also served as Safety Manager until a permanent safety manager was employed. | Project: Rolleston Coal Mine Environmental Authority Amendment Client: Xtrata Coal Services: Environmental Documentation Preparation The Rolleston Coal Mine was planning expansion and changes to its activities that required a change in the mine environmental authority. Edentech was commissioned to redraft the project Environmental Management Plan and assist the Rolleston Coal Environmental Manager with preparation of an application to amend the environmental authority. Edentech further assisted our client by attending meetings with State Government regulators. Project: Francis Creek Mine Client: Territory Iron Services: Environmental Management System Development, management Plan Preparation, Contract Staff & Recruitment Edentech was commissioned to assist a new environmental team rebuild the project environmental management system. In cooperation with site staff we were able to overhaul the environmental management system and develop procedures and systems that greatly assisted improving the environmental performance of the mine. Edentech was also able to provide a graduate Environmental Engineer as a resource to the mine, to assist with project work and to cover staff vacancies. Project: Baralaba Mine Client: Cockatoo Coal Services: Environmental Management, Approvals Documentation Preparation and Review, Management Plan Development Edentech has
delivered a range of services to Cockatoo Coal over several years. Services
have included: completing a safety systems review on a contractor completing a
bridge construction; development of environmental documentation for mine
expansion projects (Environmental Management Plan, Plan of Operations); environmental auditing; and numerous ancillary tasks. Project: Roper Bar Iron Ore Mine Development Client: Western Desert Resources & Rusca Bros. Mining Services: Site Supervision, HSE Management, Short and Long-term Contract Staff, Permanent Staff The Roper Bar Iron Ore mine is being developed in a highly remote
region within the Northern Territory Gulf. In addition to the development of the mine itself, the construction of more
than 160km of Haul Road crossing several major waterways, was necessary. Edentech provided the project with an
Environmental Superintendent and Safety Officer to oversee project development, the preparation of management and systems (Environment and Safety) and to supervise
construction. Our staff played a leading role in liaison with relevant
administering authorities. In addition, Edentech was able to identify need
for and facilitate recruitment of permanent staff for the ongoing operation of
the project. Project: Weipa Bauxite Mine Client: Rio Tinto
Edentech provided an Environmental Engineer for a temporary 12 month roster to Rio Tinto Alcan, for the Land and Rehabilitation team located in Weipa. Several major pieces of work were completed, including: the design of rehabilitation trials to improve environmental outcomes whilst improving efficiency of production in the mine; stockpile assessments on historical versus present strategies to improve soil handling methodologies to increase rehabilitation success; and systems development to improve the current seed processing, drying and storage facilities. |
